Enhance Battery Safety: Trainor Launches E-learning for Maritime and Industrial Professionals

As battery technology advances, the need for proper safety training has never been greater. To meet this demand, Trainor has launched two new e-learning courses focused on battery safety and emergency preparedness—one tailored for maritime emergency personnel and another for professionals working with land-based and offshore battery systems.

Empowering Safer Battery Operations

While battery systems enable sustainable energy solutions, they also introduce safety risks that require proper management. Trainor’s new courses equip industry professionals with the knowledge needed to handle battery systems safely, prevent hazards, and respond effectively in emergencies.

"The use of battery systems is increasing rapidly, both on land and at sea. However, with new technology comes new risks, and many professionals lack sufficient knowledge about battery safety. Our new courses address this gap by providing practical and up-to-date training," says Ole Michael Holth, Senior Instructor and Head of Renewables at Trainor.

E-learning for Maritime Emergency Personnel

The maritime industry increasingly relies on battery systems, particularly in hybrid and fully electric vessels. This shift brings new safety concerns for onboard personnel. Trainor’s new course is designed for maritime emergency response teams, providing them with essential insights into battery technology, potential hazards, and best practices for managing battery-related incidents at sea.

"Maritime personnel need to be prepared for battery-related incidents, including fires and thermal runaway situations. Our course provides the necessary knowledge to enhance safety and emergency preparedness onboard," explains Ole Michael.

Training for Land-Based and Offshore Battery Systems

Battery energy storage systems (BESS) are becoming more common in land-based industries and offshore installations. Understanding how these systems operate, risks, and mitigation strategies is crucial for maintaining safe work environments. Trainor’s e-learning course offers comprehensive training on battery safety, covering topics such as fire risks, explosion hazards, and emergency response strategies.

"Many industries are implementing large-scale battery systems, but not everyone is aware of the risks involved. Our course helps professionals understand and manage these risks effectively," says Ole Michael.

Flexible and Accessible Training

Delivered as e-learning, both courses are accessible worldwide for professionals worldwide. With engaging content, interactive scenarios, and real-world examples, the courses ensure an effective learning experience that meets industry safety standards.

By offering specialized training for both maritime and land-based battery systems, Trainor aims to enhance safety awareness and preparedness across industries. As battery technology continues to advance, the right knowledge is essential for protecting people, assets, and the environment.
