What is hot work?

Hot work means work involving the use machines and equipment that generates sparks and heat that could cause a fire. Examples of hot work include any work with an open flame, hot air, welding, cutting and / or grinding equipment.

Certification requirements

Safety Regulations stipulate that all who do hot work on objects insured by Norwegian insurance companies must hold a Hot Work Certificate*. "Hot Work - Certification" is a fire prevention course that will help you to increase your awareness of the fire risk associated with hot work and provide you with knowledge on how to reduce this risk. The certificate is issued by the Norwegian Fire Protection Association or collaborating organizations. It is valid in the Nordic countries for 5 years after which it must be renewed.
